Aus Home Insulation are the only supplier in Australia of SuperQuilt, the innovative multi-layer blanket for roofs, walls and floors which provides massive thermal insulation in a thin, flexible, multi-layer membrane.
SuperQuilt is a very flexible, easy to fit, multi-foil insulation that offers tremendous thermal benefits. Testing in accordance with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 4859.1:2002) confirms a high thermal resistance.
Due to the special composition of multi-layers of insulation, SuperQuilt effectively deals with all forms of energy transfer (i.e. conduction, convection and radiation). SuperQuilt works most effectively by reflecting infra-red radiation. This means that not only is SuperQuilt effective in winter by reflecting heat back into the building and cold out, but also in summer SuperQuilt is a very effective solar over heating barrier, therefore reducing the need for artificial cooling systems and preventing uncomfortable heat build up in the roof. The introduction of a unique method of stitching reduces cold bridging commonly seen with other multi-foil insulation material.
SuperQuilt is only 40mm thick. Alternate forms of insulation need to be thicker or more dense to resist the flow of heat. This resistance is measured by the R-value of the insulation, an industry standard measurement. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation and higher the level of comfort in your home. SuperQuilt's R ratings are R=3.1 for walls, R=2.85 for walls and R=2.5 for floors.
SuperQuilt’s R-value is higher than the minimum standards developed by the building code of Australia (R-value=2.00), and less than half the thickness of other products.
